One of the students in my senior-year seminar is from Gunma, and his father is Professor Omori, the current president of Kyoai Gakuen Maebashi International University. Through this connection, I was invited by the Gunma Association of Corporate Executives—of which Prof Omori is a senior member—to give a lecture. The event consisted of a 90-minute lecture followed by a 60-minute Q&A session, and it turned out to be a stimulating event with many excellent questions.
I observed that business leaders in Gunma have a strong sense of urgency—in a positive sense—and it seems this is driving their proactive adoption of AI. Since Japan’s future over the next decade hinges on avoiding excessive concentration in Tokyo and on how regional areas like Maebashi can strengthen themselves, this is very encouraging. I would be delighted to continue contributing, even indirectly, to their efforts as a driving force.
私の4回生ゼミの生徒の1人が群馬の出身で、父上は共愛学園前橋国際大学の現学長の大森先生です。その縁で、学長が幹部メンバーでもある群馬経済同友会からお誘いを受けて講演をしてきました。90分の講演と60分の意見交換会でしたが、とてもよい質問がたくさん出る刺激的なイベントとなりました。
群馬の経営者の皆さんは、よい意味で危機感をしっかりと持たれており、それがAIへの前のめりな活用にも繋がっているようにお見受けしました。今後10年の日本の未来は、東京一極集中を避けいかに地方が力をつけるかにかかっているので、これは大変頼もしいことです。ぜひ、間接的にでも皆さんの推進力の一旦に引き続き協力できれば幸いです。
