Yesterday, I gave a webinar on “Ikigai” at the request of the “ASEAN Youth Organization/AYO”, a very well-known non-profit organization in ASEAN even by prime ministers across ASEAN. With 45 minutes of lecture and 15 minutes of Q&A, I was very happy to hear good questions from the audience.

We had 100 young and bright people attending the webinar, mostly university students. Their faces were so lively that I was struck once again by the “vigor of Southeast Asia, different from that of East Asia.” There were no dull faces on the screen, and more than half of the participants were women! Great. I experienced this in Malaysia as well, which is sort of rare in this kind of activity in Japan or Korea (usually quite male-dominated). That’s good. Guys, please get along well with us the Japanese and use you guy’s momentum to pull it off!

I would like to thank AYO leader Samuel, who served as the chairperson, and all the other staff members for their great support!
