This is a Buddhist online seminar held under the theme of “Tariki Innovation Strategy,” with the participation of His Eminence Guen, Head Priest of the Otani Temple, Professor Hirahara, and Coach Nishihara. At the beginning of the seminar, the Buddhist understanding of “Tariki” (other-power) and “Jiri” (self-power) was discussed, with a particular focus on explaining the concept of “Tariki Hongan” (salvation through the power of the Buddha) in Jodo Shinshu. Professor Hirahara argued that in modern innovation, the concept of “other-power” is just as important as that of “self-power,” emphasizing that all beings exist within a network of interrelationships. Mr. Nishihara examined the concept of other-power from a scientific perspective, explaining that the very existence of the self depends on other-power. Reference was also made to the ritual blessings and empowerment prayers of the Shingon School, and it was discussed how the concepts of other-power and self-power are expressed in different ways across various Buddhist sects.

この会議は「他力イノベーション戦略」というテーマで開催された仏教オンラインセミナーで、大谷門主愚烟御門主台下、平原教授、西原先生が参加しました。セミナーの冒頭では、他力と自力についての仏教的理解が議論され、特に浄土真宗における「他力本願」の概念が説明されました。平原教授は、現代のイノベーションにおいては「自力」だけでなく「他力」の概念も重要であると主張し、全ての存在が関係性のネットワークの中に存在することを強調しました。西原氏は、他力の概念を科学的視点から検討し、自我の存在自体が他力に依存していることを説明しました。真言宗の加持祈祷についても言及され、他力と自力の概念が仏教の各宗派で異なる形で表現されていることが議論されました。
